The collection is organized loosely by theme rather than by a single catalog number system. Groupings include:

Von Steuben & Continental Army Material
Documents, references, and objects relating to Friedrich von Steuben’s military and civilian life, including material touching on his associates Benjamin Walker and William North.

Family & Local History
Papers, correspondence, and ephemera connected to family lines and localities associated with the broader Steuben history, including material touching on River Raisin and the Frenchtown settlements.

Glass & Antiques
A separate but related body of decorative and domestic objects, acquired alongside the historical material over the same period.

Secondary material — books, clippings, and correspondence — kept for context rather than as primary holdings.
